The Price of Freedom

The Alliance and the Resistance cannot suffer a repeat of the slaughter at Specula Imperatoris. As such, they will not march upon Castrum Abania until they can be certain the fortress's main cannon will not be brought to bear against them. With the aid of an Alliance contact in Radiata, you and your comrades have devised a plan to infiltrate the castrum and seize control of the cannon. Several parties, including yours, will attempt to create a diversion inside the castrum, thereby allowing Lyse and her unit of Resistance fighters to proceed relatively unhindered to the fire control center. Weapons research is to be your destination, and one can only imagine what manner of foes await you there...

Bosses

Magna Roader

In this encounter, the boss has several different attacks. The first one is called "Wheel" and it is a tankbuster attack. Another attack is "Magitek Fire II" which targets a specific area on the ground and causes AoE damage. "Magitek Fire III" is another attack that deals AoE damage, but this time it affects the entire group. The boss also has an attack called "Wild Speed" where it rushes around the room in a pattern. During this attack, two 12th Legion Optio adds will appear and activate cannons on the sides of the arena. These adds will bombard random players with avoidable AoEs. To stop this attack, the adds need to be defeated so that their cannons can be commandeered and used on the Magna Roader boss. The attack will continue until the Magna Roader is hit with a cannon shot. It's important to note that the Magna Roader cannot be harmed while it is moving, so players should wait for it to pause before firing.

Subject Number XXIV

The boss has an ability called Elemental Overload, which deals partywide damage of either fire, ice, or thunder type, determining its subsequent attacks. For the fire aspect, it can perform three telegraphed 120 degree conal AoEs, apply a stack marker on a random player (Fire II), or execute two sets of three conal AoEs with a stack marker. In the ice aspect, it can use crisscrossing line AoEs, telegraphed circular AoEs (Blizzard II) on each player, or two sets of crisscrossing line AoEs followed by circular AoEs on each player. As for the thunder aspect, two towers will spawn opposite each other, and one player should soak each tower (Thunder II). Failure to soak will cause the towers to explode, resulting in high partywide damage (Electrify). The boss can also use telegraphed line AoEs on each player (Sparking Current) or spawn two sets of two opposite towers along with telegraphed line AoEs on each player. It's important to note that after each set of elemental attacks, the boss will become staggered and receive a Vulnerability Up debuff.

Inferno

During the battle, Inferno has several powerful abilities. Ketu Slash is a tankbuster attack, while Rahu Blaster is a targeted column area of effect. Ketu & Rahu is a combination of ground-targeted area of effect and player-targeted area of effect attacks. Periodically, Inferno will move to the back of the arena to empower his arms using a Magitek device. When empowered, Ketu adds a bleed debuff to the tank, with a second empower adding vulnerability up. Empowered Rahu adds a multi-column room-wide area of effect and a proximity area of effect, with a second empower adding two player-targeted area of effects. The battle also involves Legion Adds, consisting of two 12th Legion Death Claws and one 12th Legion Packer. The Death Claws will tether to random players and incapacitate them if they reach their tethered player, while the Packer slowly moves towards the back of the arena and attempts to use Quick Charge on the device. If the Packer successfully completes Quick Charge, Inferno will further upgrade his arms.
